I'm a Nivo user wanting to get in touch
Here are some FAQs you may find helpful.
I’m trying to speak to a particular organisation who have asked me to download Nivo App
A number of our clients such as credit unions, lenders and brokers use Nivo App as an alternative to email, phone or paper / post to talk to their customers and gather data, documents evidence and approvals. Nivo itself is not a credit union, lender or broker. You need to download Nivo App to send a message to the organisation you are trying to talk to. The best way to do this is to follow the link they will have provided to you (they may have sent a text message or provided a link from their website). Alternatively, you can find a list of all the organisations using Nivo App here.
Nivo isn’t working for me
If you spot a technical issue with Nivo, then you should report this to the organisation you are using Nivo to speak to (e.g. the credit union, lender or broker). If Nivo App isn’t working to do this, then you should use another channel such as the phone, in branch or email. They will have contact details on their website. That organisation then has ways to send the issue through to us to investigate further and find a resolution.
I’ve got a new mobile phone number and have previously used Nivo
Nivo builds an identity about you around a mobile phone number. If your mobile phone number changes then you should simply register again for Nivo and start from scratch. This will then start to build a new identity for you around this new mobile phone number. You won’t be able to see your old messages for security reasons but the organisation you are speaking to will be able to see all the historical messages still.
I’ve lost all of the messages on Nivo
When you reset your PIN or reinstall your app on Nivo then as part of the security of the app, we delete your view of all of the historical messages on Nivo. This prevents someone stealing your phone or trying to impersonate you, and using their control of your phone number to see the information (which may be sensitive) in the messages you have previously written. The organisation you are speaking to will still be able to see the old messages so don’t worry, they have not been lost.
I’m being asked for a 5-digit PIN but I keep getting sent a 6-digit text message
1. We will text you a 6-digit code to prove you have access to the phone number you have provided. Some phones automatically complete this step without you seeing it happen. If you don’t receive the text message, go back and check the phone number you entered is correct and you have mobile phone reception.
2. You will either set up a 5-digit PIN yourself or, if you have used Nivo before, you will be asked to enter your 5-digit PIN. If you’ve forgotten your 5-digit PIN then you can press ‘Forgot’ in the top right of the PIN entry screen in the app
Do I have to use a smartphone app to access Nivo
Yes, Nivo is a smartphone app. This is so we can provide an instant messaging experience which is just like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger but built to be secure and trusted for financial and regulated institutions. If you get a message from an organisation on Nivo you will get a notification and a badge count of unread messages on the app. Being a smartphone app, it also allows us to use numerous security features and built in technologies to deliver the best possible solution to you. If you don’t have access to a smartphone you are best to speak to the organisation who asked you to use Nivo on another channel such as the phone to discuss alternative ways of communicating.
Why is Nivo better than email?
Nivo is better than email because it is more efficient, quicker, safer and compliant.
Emails are easily hacked, and therefore using email in your customer journey can expose you and your customers to embarrassing data leaks. Because Nivo verifies identities, companies can speak to their customers with confidence and sign agreements, with all exchanges and activity tracked by our audit trail.
Nivo also stops the spread of large email chains with customer data. Nivo only stores one centralised copy of a document, which is controlled by the customer. From there, organisations can provide access with their partners. All of that activity is tracked and updated when the customer updates their information.
Email is also inefficient. There's a reason why organisations all over the world are switching to services like Slack. Instant messaging provides instant action. It's a quick and an easy way to communicate, receive files, and share information.
Where is the data sent over Nivo stored?
We store data on AWS and this is hosted within the EU.
How do I get a loan with Nivo?
Nivo doesn't offer loans, but if your loan provider uses the Nivo network, you can reach them by downloading Nivo.
To download, click here for iPhone users or here for Android users.
